In summer 2018, Helen spent two months on an icebreaker ship close to the North Pole. Armed with stories of ice, bears and ships, she’ll explain why getting close to the North Pole is so hard, what we do and don’t know about the Arctic and what the future of this northernmost part of the Earth might mean for the rest of the world.

The event is part of Cheltenham Science Festival.
