Cheltenham Science Festival


The fabulous Cheltenham Science Festival is taking place from 4th to 9th June 2024, and Helen is hosting loads of interesting sessions.  Come along and listen in!

Wed 5 June at 4pm: How Did Life Begin? One of life’s biggest and hotly debated questions remains unanswered. Discussion with Nick Lane and Martina Preiner, chaired by Helen.

Thu 6 June at 4:30pm: Oceans: Protecting Our Earth's Last Wilderness. Set sail on a journey to uncover the truth behind our oceans with oceans scientist Helen Czerski and science journalist Olive Heffernan.

Thu 6 June at 7:30pm: A Load of Rubbish. When we throw things away, it’s just the beginning of a long and complex journey. In this eye-opening conversation, Helen Czerski, Oliver Franklin-Wallis and Irina Druzhinina unpack how science and technology is evolving.

Fri 7 June at 5pm: Saving Our Countryside. Can we build a countryside where humanity and nature thrive? Countryfile’s Tom Heap, farmer Sarah Langford and Bite Back ambassador and food campaigner Tasha Mhakayakora believe we can use the land in a smarter way. Speaking with Helen Czerski, they discuss the future of our countryside.
