SXSW London

SXSW, South by Southwest, is the global festival for the convergence of business, technology and creativity.  By convening the sharpest minds across politics, science, and the arts, through provocative debate and positive storytelling, we reframe the world’s most pressing challenges into the breakthrough opportunities of tomorrow.

Part of ‘Frontier Technologies’, this event is a panel discussion titled ‘The Future of Ocean Exploration’ presented by New Scientist.

This panel will discuss what the future holds for the depths of our oceans, including the implementation of the High Seas Treaty, the march toward deep‑sea mining and the cutting of national research budgets. What will these changes mean for the future of ocean science, exploration and the sustainable management of the planet's last true wilderness?

Speakers Professor Matt Frost, Professor Helen Czerski and Dennis Nelson with moderator Alec Luhn.

Venue: Protein Studios, Stage 2
Time: 2pm
